Cadet Corps Sponsors
Cadet Corps Sponsors provide a vital role in the partnership with DND and League. Each cadet corps requires sponsorship via a Community Sponsor and the sponsor is responsible for assigning a local Support Committee to be the active support arm for the corps.
As part of the Sponsor Agreement the following Terms are outlined:
1. Ensure that the Cadet Corps has adequate housing and training accommodation for its training programme;
2. Provide the Cadet Corps with the necessary support needed to carry out its optional activities as established with the Commanding Officer (CO);
3. Maintain and develop profitable relations with local businesses, municipal government, social clubs and the affiliated unit;
4. To establish a Support Committee in accordance to the appropriate provincial or territorial Branches of The Army Cadet League of Canada League regulations or policies. This committee will be formed of sponsor
representatives, parents, other civilians within the community to assist the cadet corps in fundraising
activities and the administration of the funds and other supportive activities;
5. Collaborate with the CO in a spirit of partnership in the administration of the Cadet Corps without interfering in the CO's responsibilities in the execution of the program as established by the Canadian Forces (CF);
6. Collaborate with the CO in the recruiting of Cadets and Instructors;
7. Consult with appropriate authorities regarding the nomination, promotion, transfer or release of key officers and civilian instructors of the Cadet Corps;
8. Maintain regular communications with the local representative of the Army Cadet League of Canada as
required;
9. Suggest to individuals to become members of The Army Cadet League of Canada according to the National membership policy;
10. Become an active supporter of the Royal Canadian Army Cadets and of The Army Cadet League of Canada.
